An educational leader with more than 25 years of experience in multiple roles, Brian Lumar is a director/supervisor at A1 Absolute Best Care. There, he leverages his background in curriculum development to write educational plans and supervise direct service workers, personal care assistants, and administrative staff. Brian Lumar has held this position since 2021, after spending two decades at Hahnville High School in Louisiana.
As principal from 2017 to 2021, Dr. Lumar worked to facilitate a positive learning environment for all students. He oversaw all aspects of classroom supervision, discipline, AP testing, ROTC, teacher evaluation, and student progress. He previously worked as an assistant principal at the school and taught English and Fundamentals of Speech.
A former standout basketball player at Loyola University, Dr. Lumar also coached the varsity hoops team at Hahnville and served as an assistant basketball coach at Archbishop Shaw High School from 1996 to 2001. He is Loyola's all-time leading scorer and rebounder and a member of its Athletic Hall of Fame. He completed a bachelor of arts in communications at Loyola. He later earned a master of education from the University of Texas at Arlington and a doctor of education from Southeastern Louisiana University.
